Santa Claus at the Front
From Harper's Weekly 150 years ago next week
I got a box of them two or three weeks ago and I mailed one off to everyone who has a block in the book.
Carol Sanderson
Melissa Devlin
I think I mailed out 35 books, so 35 different quiltmakers are represented in the book.
Donna at Quilting Bear Gal
Ann Champion
Amzingly enough, within ten days the books were in the hands of the most far-flung contributors. I see that Leisbeth Wessels in the Netherlands has received hers. Leisbeth's block is on the bottom on the page above. Country Log Cabin's at the top. See Leisbeth's blog here:

And Patchie13 from France emailed that she has hers.
Leonie Weathersley (Just Cruising Mbk),
Kathie Coombs (Magpie Memories)
Leonie tells me that she (Just Cruising Mbk), Kathie Coombs (Magpie Memories) and
Karen Matthews (Kookaburra Calling) are sisters. They all have blocks in the book.

The page at the C&T site says the book is ready although your quilt shop may not have it in quite yet.

You can also buy it as an eBook at the C&T site.
Thanks for all the help and inspiration. I couldn't have done all those blocks myself.
And thanks again for the quilt you made me, The Circle of Friends, which is right up there in the front of the book.
Congrats to all what a great way to send 2012!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for my copy to arrive, Amazon has messaged to say it is on the way. While i don't have a block featured in the book, i did contribute to the "circle of Friends" quilt for you and it was my privilege to do so. Thank you again for being the conduit for the group. It has been wonderful to share the journey with so many talented quilters. Merry christmas to you
ReplyDeleteThis was such a fun project to be a part of! I'd get up each Saturday morning and read the latest post. You made each history lesson so interesting, with the women's roles included.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a thrill to have my blocks included in the book, and the way you signed it made my heart race a bit. Thank you SO much for creating this quilt along and for your generosity.

An amazing accomplishment, especially for this time of year! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI received my book and did the little dance of joy. I have already showed it off to my quilting guild sisters, my family, and "curves" friends, some of who are ordering their own just to get MY autograph! LOL.... Can't thank you enough, Barbara, for your generosity. ~ Susan aka "Stitchin Witch"
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to be included in such a beautiful book! Thanks, Barbara, for putting it all together and making us all look so good.
ReplyDeleteYour blog does, indeed, create a Circle of Friends - a circle that just keeps getting bigger.

I've already ordered several more as Christmas gifts and this is one book everyone must have! The journey of being part of the Circle of Friends has been inspiring and simply perfect. ReplyDeleteDear Barbara,
ReplyDeleteMy heartfelt thanks for your generosity in sending a copy of the book. (Arrived today - Christmas Eve!) All of the above comments have said it all really Barbara. 2011 was a fun year, Saturdays being the highlight of the week. I didn't get my quilt top put together during 2012 but it is my one and only project on the 2013 list and I can't wait to get started.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2013,
Cheers from Helen
A wonderfull achievement,So many inspiring people.I enjoyed following your posts to the end result. Thank you for shareing.
ReplyDeleteI received my copy of the book just before Christmas--a gift "from me to me" so to speak! I wish I had found this blog sooner! My brother has been a Civil War buff for many many years, and I'm making him a quilt using reproduction fabrics. Thanks for inspiration to keep going!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for my book - Barbara, it was such a thrill to have two of my blocks featured in this book but all credit goes to you for your wonderful generosity.

What an amazing surprise to see a block that I had made in the new book! I do hope my copy will be there when we get home from our trip, although I don't remember giving you my address. We left home on Dec. 21 and will be gone about a month, so I don't know if one was sent to me. It is quite an honor to have one of my blocks in the book! Getting the quilt finished is one of my top priorities for 2013. Thanks so much for the weekly blocks. I looked forward to them every week and finished them pretty much on time.
